Jim Hegan

1952 Bowman #187

I've had this card for so long that I don't remember when, where, or why I bought it. In fact, I forgot I had it until I was going through my collection last week. More than likely I wanted a few vintage cards so I picked it up at a card show nearly twenty years ago.

Hegan played with the Indians for the majority of his career. He started with them in 1941 and left in '57. After that he played with several othr teams, including the Tigers, Phillies, Giants and Cubs. His last game was July 4th, 1960. He was an All-Star in 1947, 1949, 1950, 1951 and 1952.

After his stint as a catcher he served as a coach with the Yankees and the Tigers.
